What’s the main difference between UX and UI?

by Brian Baumgartner
in Tech

Recently, we have seen two acronyms that have begun to gain popularity on the Internet, especially in companies that are associated with technological developments: it is UI, which is an acronym that begins with the anglicism “User Interface”, and UX stands for “User Experience”.

User experience “UX” and user interface design “UI” are two processes that need to be considered to optimize a website. Both are essential when creating a good digital product, but their roles are different as they occupy different parts of the process. For this reason, it is important to know the differences between UX and UI designs.

What is UX design and user interface design used for?

If we were to compare a digital product to a vehicle, the UX design would represent the engine and mechanisms that enable it to work properly so we can move with it, and the user interface design would symbolize the “aesthetic” function of the car. For example, a car, its appearance (color code that combines body color, upholstery…), its line (sporty, urban…), and finishes.

A great digital product experience starts with UX, followed by user experience. Both are necessary, and the main purpose of both designs is to ensure that the user is using the browser correctly. They complement each other to make a good impression and achieve customer satisfaction through smooth and intuitive navigation as well as a neat and clean structure. And you can order such services through UI / UX design services.

What is user experience design?

It is a process of increasing customer satisfaction and loyalty. Therefore, it is focused on the user and on the emotions that he will evoke when visiting the network. UX design strives to deliver the expected result through a combination of the interface, interaction, and content. A UX designer must research, evaluate, and analyze to know exactly what users need and what they expect to find.

What about user interface design?

User interface design is responsible for communicating development, content, and design through an experience that is enjoyable, engaging, and satisfying to users. This is the most creative part, which expresses the corporate identity of the company.

The user interface feature is fundamental to any digital product and is also an important element for customers to trust a brand.

Now you need to know the differences between them so as not to confuse the concepts and not use them interchangeably.

So what is the difference between UX and UI? UI refers to the creation of an interface, whether it be graphical or designed with various types of code such as CSS, jQuery, jQuery UI, EXT JS, YUI, etc. On the other hand, UX stands for “user experience” which means to put yourself in the place of the user, and check how usable in terms of web design.

The main work of a UX designer is in the field of content strategy, he performs analysis of competition, consumer behavior, product strategy, and content development as such. Meanwhile, the job of the user interface is to provide a visual presentation and the interactivity of the product. This is an expert in external design, graphic environment, and brand building, in other words, he is responsible for the “look and feels” or appearance of a digital product.

As you can see, not only a few people are involved in the development of this type of product, but it is also developed at different stages. It is not enough for different professions to work together, they also need to be uniform and attractive.
